The project is part of the wider Integrated Intervention Program concerning the areas between the Ripa di Porta Ticinese, Via Barsanti and Via Autari, adjacent to the Baden Powell Park, near the Naviglio Grande in the Municipality of Milan. It provides for the upgrading and construction of primary and secondary urbanization works through the
functional redevelopment of two dilapidated buildings owned by the municipality and the landscaping of the surrounding areas intended for public utility services. the proposed challenge was to design a multifunctional place that could respond to multiple types of use in the fastest way.
The two buildings nicknamed E2 and E3 are placed across the project area, the E3 building is characterized by the typical elements of the workers' houses of the early twentieth century and is configured to house offices and services, while the E2 building built in the middle from the 1950s it takes shape as a small exhibition space. The two buildings define two completely different areas: the "noble" courtyard which has the function of access and maintains the settings of the historic garden of the small workers' houses of the early twentieth century and the rear courtyard; transformed into a green area equipped for eventual use for exhibitions. Being the first experience in the field (for the internship) and a project that was then followed up to its completion and opening, it was a very interesting first project, which refers a little to the themes dear to me; or the recovery and reconnection of those fabrics or elements left to decay and abandonment. Furthermore, I believe that this experience has been highly constructive for my professional future, as it represents the first real experience outside the university context and which has allowed me to approach the world of work for the first time.
