The project involves the recovery and re-functionalization of the former Heliotherapy Colony of Vercelli, a meeting place for various associations in the city and close to the natural environment of the Sesia River. The will of the project is to create an aggregation space by uniting all the associations under a single roof and at the same time inserting new aggregation spaces, thus bringing the colony back to being a meeting place between nature and the city. The architectural elements and materials of the time are taken up and deliberately enhanced. The purely technical expression of the building in contradiction with the surrounding natural environment enhances its industrial character, the same contradiction that also binds the different associations within the colony.
